A community update on our programming, continued services, and the road ahead.

At Al-Misbaah, our work has always been rooted in three pillars: Knowledge, Service, and Companionship (Suhbah).

Whether it’s providing food to families, creating spaces for learning, or bringing communities together, our mission remains the same: to serve our communities with sincerity, compassion, and purpose.

As we continue to grow, we’ve been reflecting on how we can better fulfill that mission. This means taking a closer look at our programming, strengthening our operations, and being more intentional about where and how we direct our resources.

We want to share what this means for you, our community.

Our Commitment to Service Continues

First and foremost, our three existing food distributions are continuing without changes.

Our commitment to supporting families facing food insecurity remains a central part of Al-Misbaah’s work. We are grateful to the volunteers, donors, and community partners who make these distributions possible.

As we look ahead, we’re exploring how we can strengthen our partnerships with communities across Northern California, identify areas of need, and develop programs that provide meaningful, measurable support.

Our goal isn’t simply to do more. It’s to ensure that the work we do makes a lasting difference.

Brothers’ and Sisters’ Programming: What’s Next?

We know many of you have been wondering about the future of our Brothers’ and Sisters’ programming.

These programs have not been shut down. We are working toward bringing them back, inshaAllah.

As Al-Misbaah grows, we’re taking this opportunity to reassess our programming and become more intentional about the experiences and opportunities we offer.

We want our gatherings to be meaningful, consistent, and responsive to the needs of our community, whether through Islamic education, mentorship, companionship, or opportunities to connect.

This next chapter is about creating more for you, more meaningful learning, stronger connections, and spaces that support your growth in faith, purpose, and community.

As we refine our programming, we want every gathering to feel intentional: a place where you can learn, build lasting relationships, find support, and continue growing alongside others.

We look forward to welcoming you back and creating programs shaped by the needs, hopes, and experiences of our community, inshaAllah.

This transition also gives us the opportunity to bring a wider range of scholars, speakers, and mentors into our programming. By being thoughtful about how we invest in each gathering, we hope to offer our community access to diverse perspectives, meaningful guidance, and experiences that support growth at every stage.

At the heart of this work is a simple intention: to support the growth of every person who comes to Al-Misbaah. We want our programs to offer more than events—they should be spaces for learning, reflection, meaningful connection, and continued growth in faith and character.

Our mission remains the same: to serve you better, strengthen our community, and grow together with purpose.

While we don’t have finalized dates to share just yet, we’re looking forward to welcoming you back to these programs. Updates will be shared as plans are confirmed.

We appreciate your patience and continued support as we work through this transition.

Building a More Intentional Approach to Community Impact

One of our priorities moving forward is developing a more thoughtful approach to identifying and addressing community needs.

Rather than introducing programming simply for the sake of offering more programs, we’re working toward a process that allows us to better understand what each community needs, assess the resources required, and establish clear goals for the work we undertake.

This includes strengthening relationships with masajid and local organizations, building sustainable partnerships, and measuring the impact of our initiatives.

It’s also about honoring the trust placed in us by every individual who supports our work.

As Shaykh Yasir Khan emphasized during our internal discussions:

“It is an amanah on our shoulders to fulfill those obligations.”

Every donation, every volunteer hour, and every opportunity to serve is a trust. We want to ensure that we’re honoring that trust by being thoughtful, responsible, and transparent about how our resources are used.

Creating Space for Community

Beyond our own programming, we also recognize the importance of creating spaces where people can gather, connect, and benefit from one another.

As part of this next chapter, we’re looking at how our facilities can continue to serve as valuable resources for the community, including opportunities for beneficial gatherings and programming.

Our hope is to strengthen the sense of belonging that sits at the heart of Al-Misbaah’s mission.

Looking Ahead, Together

Change can sometimes come with questions, especially when it affects programs and spaces that have become familiar parts of our lives.

We want to reassure you that while some of our internal processes and programming may evolve, our commitment to the community has not changed.

We’re working toward an Al-Misbaah that can serve more intentionally, operate more sustainably, and build stronger relationships with the communities we serve.

There is much to look forward to, inshaAllah, and we will continue sharing updates as plans take shape.
